🛡️ Faraday Bags – Protect Your Devices from Hacking, Tracking & Data Theft
Since 1998, OzSpy has helped Australians protect their privacy with reliable privacy tools — and Faraday bags are one of the most effective.
What Is a Faraday Bag?
A Faraday bag (also called an RFID-blocking or signal-blocking pouch) is a specially engineered enclosure lined with metallic fabric that blocks wireless signals like:
-
📡 Mobile networks (GSM, 4G, 5G)
-
📶 Wi-Fi & Bluetooth
-
🔐 RFID (used in key fobs, credit cards, and passports)
-
🛰️ GPS tracking
-
⚡ EMF/EMI interference
Named after scientist Michael Faraday, these modern signal-blocking pouches act like portable Faraday cages, shielding your device from all incoming and outgoing wireless signals.
✅ Why Use a Faraday Bag?
🔒 Privacy Protection: Prevent your phone or GPS tracker from leaking your location — even in flight mode.
🛡️ Anti-Hacking & Anti-Spying: Block remote access attempts to your phone, tablet, or laptop.
💳 RFID Theft Prevention: Stop criminals from scanning and cloning your credit cards and e-passports.
🚘 Vehicle Key Fob Protection: Prevent relay attacks that clone keyless car entry signals.
📦 What Devices Can You Protect?
Our range includes Faraday bags and pouches for:
-
Phones & tablets (all sizes)
-
Laptops & portable hard drives
-
Car key fobs
-
Credit cards & passports
-
Signal-blocking wallets, caps & travel pouches
Whether you’re commuting, travelling overseas, or just want peace of mind — there’s a size and style for your needs.
🧪 Do Faraday Bags Really Work?
Yes. During our own tests with iPhones and Android devices, once placed in the pouch and sealed, the devices became completely undetectable — even in flight mode. No calls, messages, or signals were received.
🛠️ How to Use a Faraday Bag
-
Power off your device (recommended for maximum protection).
-
Place the device inside the Faraday pouch — phone, key fob, credit card, etc.
-
Seal the bag completely using the zip, magnetic, or fold-over closure to activate the signal-blocking barrier.
-
Store securely — once sealed, your device is shielded from wireless signals, tracking, and scanning.
-
To use the device again, simply open the bag and remove it.
⚠️ Important: For maximum signal blocking, switch your phone off before placing it in the Faraday bag. While high-quality bags block signals well, powered-on phones can still leak location data if the bag is moved or shaken, especially if seams aren’t sealed tightly.
🧵 What Are Faraday Bags Made From?
The key to their effectiveness is the inner metallic lining, typically woven from copper or silver fibres. The outer layer resembles standard nylon or canvas, but the inner core creates a shield that reflects and absorbs wireless signals.
