The latest Pulsar Quantum HD38S Thermal Imaging Scope is designed for detection and observation in day light and in the night time even when other optical devices such as binoculars, spotting scopes and night vision devices are inefficient. This thermal imager easily adapts to harsh weather conditions such as fog, smoke, dust and can also detect heat signatures through obstacles like grass or bushes.
At the core of the Quantum HD38S is the unique combination of high resolution microbolometer (384х288) sensor, germanium lens F38/0.8 and the frost-proof OLED display (640x480).
2.1x optical magnification of the Pulsar Quantum thermal scope can be increased up to 4.2x using the 2x digital zoom. The imaging principle is based on the difference of temperatures of objects under observation. The image is transferred to a high-contrast OLED display in two modes: “White hot” or “Black hot”. Main control elements (on/off, sensor calibration, image inversion, digital zoom activation) are located on the top of the device. Large sized control buttons allow bare hands operation and operation in gloves, which makes it perfect even in cold conditions.
Activation and operation of the device including running time set-up, choice of video output signal, brightness and contrast adjustment can be performed with the help of the encoder wheel.
The Pulsar Quantum HD38S Thermal Imaging Scope is equipped with a jack, allowing external power supplies to be attached. The thermal imager also has a video output to conduct video recording to external devices during observation.
The Pulsar Quantum features quick start-up time in less than 10 seconds – time between the push of the ON button and readiness to begin operation. Images are stable without distortion across the whole field of view and without any “tunnel effect”. Quantum thermal imagers can be used within a wide temperature range from -20 degrees С to +50 degrees С.
This Quantum HD38S lightweight carbon-filled body features lengthwise serrated rubber armouring which provides a secure grip of the unit. The thermal imager is equipped with a Weaver-rail Mil-Std 1913 enabling extra accessories (external power supply, video recording devices) to be attached.
Quantum HD38S Calibration
The Quantum S suggests three calibration modes: silent manual mode (“M”), automatic (“A”) and semiautomatic (“H”). The “A” mode implies calibration without user participation (process initiation (actuation of the shutter) takes place automatically). In the “H” mode the user decides on his own if calibration is required based on the image quality. Button “Cal” is pressed in this mode. Manual calibration (“M”) is carried out by pressing the button when the lens cap is closed. The “M” mode is recommended for hunting due to silent operation.
Quantum HD38S Quick start-up time
The Quantum imaging scopes feature short start-up time (5 - 7 seconds) from the push of a button to full operational status. This is one of the best results in its class.
Brightness and contrast control
The control wheel located next to the lens allows the user to setup brightness and contrast most appropriate for specific situation.
All Quantum models are equipped with an analog video output to enable connection of external recording equipment or transmitting image to the display.
Wide range of operating temperatures
Quantum imaging scopes are effective for the use in low temperatures (-25°C) thanks to the frost-resistant OLED display employed in the unit (image remains the same as when viewing at positive environment temperature).
Self-contained power supply
The Quantum is powered with four AA size (rechargeable) batteries. The batteries are stored in a container which is then placed in a battery compartment of the unit.
